Today's Outfit

There has been a lack of posts on here as of late, so for that I apologise. I am officially back! I have another post planned for during the week, which I am hoping will be a winner. For now though, I shall fill the gap with an OOTD. It is just a simple little outfit that I wore today for a quick visit to my Auntie's house (or as quick as you can with someone in the family - always ends up a couple of hours longer than was originally planned...) Then I came home and baked an apple crumble, which I am really proud of! It was lush, I probably should have taken a picture of it and put the recipe up here but I forgot and there really is not much left to photograph! I might do it anyway, what do ya think?

Nailed: alternate blue and pink spots

Hiya lovelies,
Super quick post tonight just to let you have a peek at my nail love at the mo. I think this is the second or third time this month I have been sporting spotty nails, and these were just too adorable to skip a post on. I used two Barry M pastel colours, Blueberry Ice Cream and Peach Melba. The blue one was featured in my recent haul, which you can view right here! I then just used a Miss Sporty 7 day top coat, which was also in the haul. It is a surprisingly good top coat actually, it makes my nail polish last longer than my usual two days. And it was only £1.99 too, bargain! The spots were done by a kirby grip/hair grip/bobby pin (so many names for those things) to make them perfectly round. I am planning on buying some dotting tools in the near future, but a kirby grip works perfectly fine for the time being. What is your favourite nail combo?

It's a bloomin' HUGE HAUL! Primark, Boots etc...

Omg I really cannot help myself when it comes to spending money. I do believe that I picked up some pretty damn good things whilst browsing the shops with my mother dearest, and again with my friend, and then once again with momma. I like going shopping with my mum, she always buys me things! Quite a lot of the clothes in the haul were bought by the cash in her purse rather than mine, but there was one condition - I had to keep them unworn for my summer holidays at the end of June, which I guess I can live with. This haul actually consists of  things that I acquired over three days of shopping (and there is quite a few things to show...) but the days were so close together (yep, three times in one week) that I can't call it a collective haul. What can I say, I am a diagnosed shopaholic.

Apologies in advance for the poop photos. I didn't have time to edit them and make them brighter :(

TK MAXX
Leopard print hotpants £12.99
///These are absolutely GORGEOUS! I must admit, they are quite short but for wearing on my summer holidays in Spain this year, I am not really bothered. I want to be able to show off my tan! You may or may not know, TK Maxx is a shop that contains a whole mish mash of stuff -- everything from hair straighteners to a cooking pot and the odd exercise ball.

BOOTS

Bourjois Healthy Mix Foundation 'shade 53' £9.99
///Yep, I finally bought it. And after all that dithering for months about "should I buy it or shouldn't I??", I bought the wrong shade. It is kinda dark for me, but still wearable.

17 pressed powder £3.99
///Needed a new powder, and this was what I picked. Nothing special, just a regular powder.

Rimmel eye make-up remover (free) £3.59
///Really like this, it doesn't hurt my eyes like most eye make-up removers seem to. It is maybe because I wear contact lenses on a daily basis because I am blind as a bat, and I still have them in when I take my make-up off. This says on the bottle 'suitable for contact lens wearers'.

17 blusher 'First Kiss' £3.49
///Really really really love the colour of this, it is a slightly corally pink with a hint of shimmer to it. I only own a couple of blushes as I tend to stick to wearing the same one, but I thought a nice shimmery one would be nice for the coming seasons. It's not too shimmery that it makes you look like a disco ball, just a nice subtle one.

Collection 2000 lasting perfection concealer 'shade 3' £4.19
///Turns out I have been wearing the wrong shade of this. I finally noticed after 4 bottles. Shade 2 is too pinky for my skin, this is more yellowy. I wouldn't say it is any darker, just a different undertone that suits my skin wayyyyy better.

Barry M Nail paint in 'Blueberry Ice Cream' (free) £2.99
///This nail polish is Stunning with a capital S. Wows.

Miss Sporty nail polish £1.99
///Ahhh, the famous 'no name' brand. I really hate how the nail polishes have no shade names, or even numbers but can't be helped. It is easy to tell which one it is anyhoo. Love love love this blue colour for spring.

Miss Sporty clear nail polish £1.99

Natural Collection lash build mascara (free) £1.99
///Pleasantly surprised with this, I just got it because I needed something the same price to get free, but it is actually really good. It really floats my boat. I might do a review on it soon, let me know what ya think.

VO5 Miracle Concentrate £4.99
///I finally succumbed to this. I have been wanting this for god knows how long. Smells amazing -- also maybe a review to come?

And last but not least...
PRIMARK

Blue mens hoody £12
///I know it's mens, but I like it!

Beige/Nude t shirt £4

Blue and silver long necklace £1 - sale

Black woven belt £1

Black and nude pumps £4

French writing moustache t shirt £4
How cute is this -- there is just something about moustaches on tshirts that really float my boat.

Orangey-red vest top £2
///Correction - a very creased orangey-red vest top.

Union Jack hotpants £10
Very very very short shorts, but I like em.

Dark blue denim hotpants £5

Pink checked shirt £8

Grey owl vest £3
D'aww, this is cayooot too.

Oh dear, I have bought more than I thought. Seeing it altogether like this really proves how fab I am at splashing the cash...

Let me know what make-up doo-das you want reviews on :)

Where have I been?! (Also, cute puppy alert.)

Oh dear lord, it has been one whole stinking week since I last blogged and it wasn't even anything exciting! It was just a little tag post because I wanted to put something up and I couldn't think of anything else. Drat. I never usually leave it this long! But I have a good reason, I swear! This week and next week are my 3rd year exams so I have been busy busy busy studying for my 8 subjects. My head seems to be constantly sore, I think it is going to explode. So far, I have done my English writing and close reading exams on Monday, my Modern Studies exam yesterday and I had my Maths today. Tomorrow I have none, waheyy! I do have Chemistry on Friday which is a bummer because I am poo at it (BUMmer, poo... hahahahahaha I am hilarious without even trying). Anyways, the reason I am writing this is just to let you know what is going on and why I have been absent. I should be able to get a post up tomorrow evening sometime, I have a haul post planned. It has to written from scratch though, which will take ages because it is HUGE (good news for you, not so great for me...). Hope you haven't missed me too much -- but I bet you are all thinking 'hey, I never noticed you were gone.' Howevs, I like to think that I was deeply missed. Ciao for now.

To see you out, here is a picture of some uber cute puppies.

7 Deadly Sins of Beauty - TAG

So I am slightly late jumping on the bandwagon here with this tag because most people have already done it and forgotten about it. However every now and then it crops up so if I am going to do it, I guess I had better get it done before it is totally out of the window and I am too late! I really like this tag, it is not your typical one so it is fun to do. Hope you enjoy!

One more thing before I begin, I wonder who makes up these tags? Like, if it is just some random person, how do they get the whole blogger and youtube doing it and stuff? I have always wondered that...

GREED
What is your most inexpensive beauty item? What is your most expensive?
My cheapest beauty product is most definitely my MUA Lipstick in the shade 13. It is a mere £1!! I hate how they don't have names, just colours... I really like the formula of this and I am planning to buy a few more shades (see my last post--April Beauty Wishlist). My most expensive is my Benefit Confessions of a Concealaholic. I don't really tend to buy expensive products, I like to use cheaper highstreet/drugstore alternatives.

WRATH
What beauty products do you have a love/hate relationship with? What product has been the hardest to get?
I have a love/hate relationship with glitter nail polish. I love love love how they look but they are just so damn hard to get off. I can't say I have ever found it that difficult to find a specific product, maybe my Soap & Glory Off Your Face face wipes because they never seem to stock them in my local Boots.

GLUTTONY
What are your most delicious beauty products?
For how it smells, my Marc Jacobs Daisy Eau So Fresh smells divine. It's a really beautiful floral scent that is perfect for spring and makes me go 'mmmmm' every time I put it on. Another thing which is mega yummy is my Soap & Glory Sexy Mother Pucker in Candy Gloss. Why do they make lip glosses so tasty?! It just makes them last all of five minutes on my lips.

SLOTH
What beauty product do you neglect, due to laziness?
There are quite a few things that I neglect because I am lazy. First of all, highlighter. I hardly ever put it on because I forget. Also eyeshadow, I just can't be bothered with putting it on. It takes too long! Also, this is very bad, but sometimes I skip my moisturiser...

PRIDE
What beauty product gives you the most self confidence?
Although I would never go a day without wearing foundation, my concealer is even more of a must. The Collection 2000 lasting perfection concealer is just brrrrrilliant. It hides my dark circles and acne like a boss.
As you can see I have totally demolished one of the tubes.
I wanted to get my money's worth!
Just take a sharp pair of scissors and snip the tube in half, you will find a big dollop of product at the bottom where the applicator would never reach! Voila, I am a money saving expert.
LUST
What attributes do you find most attractive in the opposite sex?
I thought this was kind of a weird question to stick in there, what has it got to do with beauty products?! Anyway, I quite like a handsome face and a cute smile. We all say that the personality is the most important, but really, the face does count for quite a lot! Personality wise, I like a sense of humour, he needs to be able to make me laugh and cheer me up. Being caring and honest is important too. Oh, and well-kept hair and teeth!

ENVY
What items would you most like to receive as a gift?
This sounds super cheesy but I nice well thought out gift is always appreciated. I like something that has clearly had some thought put in to it. Of course, some good ol' nail polish is always good to receive.

So that's the tag done and dusted. I am not going to specifically tag anyone, just whoever wants to do it. If you want to do it, feel free to say I tagged you. Leave a link if you have already done it because I love reading these!

April Beauty Wishlist!

I am waiting till I have been to see The Hunger Games to share with you my Top 5 Must-See Movies (click here for my top 5 must-reads!), so I have a wishlist for you instead today so that I am not leaving too long in between posts. I am going on Thursday and I honestly cannot wait! It was meant to be tomorrow but I had to rearrange my plans -- I have been offered a day working in a cafe down the street because it has been jam-packed these past few days.  I worked in there on Sunday because it was Easter and there was a national bike race that went through my town so it was pretty busy! My mum's best friend is runs the shop and the cafe because the owner is quite old and can't do it herself. It is always good to know someone that runs a cafe!! I am really glad to be offered another day, I am in desperate need of the money. Damn Boots for having a 3 for 2 offer on all cosmetics, haircare and skincare.

Omg I want these so bad. To be honest, I don't even want 3 of the brushes. I would prefer it if you could buy the Buffing Brush separately but you can't. Damn. So I am prepared to pay £21.99 for four brushes, three of which I might not use. Then again I could be wrong and end up loving them. We'll have to see! This is probably the thing that I want the most out of all the things I am about to show you.

I am really interested in trying out this new product on the market from Maybelline. If I like it (which hopefully I will), I think it will be a fabby thing to bring with me on my summer holiday to Spain this year because it won't be as heavy as a foundation would be. I never feel right wearing a foundation in the summer so this would be perfect. It is also a very very reasonable price.

This is a really beautiful colour, it reminds me of ice cream. Barry M always have really cute pastel colours and this would be bloomin' beautiful in the spring and the summer. I think it is number 317, correct me if I am wrong. The price is also totes amazeballs.

I found a really great picture on Google Images of all the shades swatched so I thought I would include that too. I own shade 13, a lovely bright pinky red. I got it to wear for my dance show a few weeks ago and although the colour on me is not my favourite, I can't doubt that it is an amazing lipstick. For a mere £1, I am sure I could afford to pick a few more colours up from Superdrug. I quite fancy shades 3, 6 & 7.

I really need a new moisturiser and I think this will do just fine. I do have a tiny bit left of my current one but it is pretty heavy duty, so a light one for spring/summer is needed. I have never tried this before, but I have heard on multiple occasions that it is quite good.

Of course there are more things that I lust for right now, but I thought I shan't bore you and just include my top five. Now that I look back at them, I realise that I have put them in order of preference -- how's that for a coincidence! Let me know if you have tried any of these things or link me to a post of yours if you have previously blogged about them. xx

P.S Sorry for practically writing a novel here...

My Top 5 Must-Reads

It is a different kind of post from me today -- nothing about beauty and make-up! Today I focus on books and the books that I think are a must read. I have tried to have a range in books so that there is something for everybody but I genuinely LOVE all these books. Let me know if you have read any of them or plan to!

01: 'The Twilight Saga' by Stephenie Meyer
I am kind of cheating and putting all these books down as just one, but ah well. There is absolutely no way that you have not heard of these books, it is simply impossible for these to have gone right over your head. These books are just perfection, they are much better than the films. When you have read the books, you realise how cheesy the film makes it seem and how much bad acting there is but that hasn't stopped me from loving the films too! I have read this series over and over and I don't think I will ever get over my love for these.

02: 'The Hunger Games' by Suzanne Collins
Again, I am lumping more than one book in to a category but I am hardly going to list each book as a separate one if you get what I mean? I have only read the first book in this three-part series but even from just that one book, I can tell that this comes in very close to my love for Twilight. I love the really unique story about 24 'tributes' who have to fight against each other. I am going to see the film next week with my friend Emma, and I can't wait!

03: 'The Last Song' by Nicholas Sparks
Yes, this was made in to a cheesy movie starring Miley Cyrus but the book is amazing! I cried at least three times whilst reading this and it is a really good story. The film is quite good, but I much prefer the book. It is just written so well and the story line is awesomely awesome.

04: 'Where Rainbows End' by Cecelia Ahern
This book is really unique in the way that it is written -- it is all in letters, emails, instant messaging and announcements. It is not like a normal book, and that is what drew me to read it for the first time. Cecelia Ahern is a really good writer, she wrote P.S I Love You which I am sure you have heard of (which by the way, is also an amazing book!). The story line is great and keeps you gripped all the way to the end. A definite must-read!

05: 'Confessions of Georgia Nicholson' by Louise Rennison
Once again, this is a whole series (I think there could be ten books, correct me if i'm wrong?) and although it is written for teenagers, I think women of all ages would enjoy this. It is amazingly witty and you might think that it is a bit dragged out throughout ten books, but it is not boring in the slightest. I really like how it is written all in diary entries.

That is it for my top 5 must-reads! What are yours?
Keep a look out for my top 5 must-sees within the next few days.

Nailed: Multi-coloured Spotty Nails

In the same order as on the nail::
Missguided 'Misschevious'//H&M 'Festive Fuschia' duo (green side)//Barry M 'Peach Melba'//w7 Sheer Mauve//Forever21 love & beauty 'Dusty Blue'//Avon French Manicure 'White'

these pictures have been oh so slightly edited in terms on colour saturation and stuff, just tomake the colours more true to life. the nail polish colours do look like this, I am not trying to change them!

Hello everybody, I have a Nailed post for you all today! Inspiration for this nail look was taken from Sandra's (http://sandra-thepuzzleofmylife.blogspot.co.uk/Easter Nails. Obviously mine aren't as nice as her's -- the cute little chicks looked quite hard to do and I don't own a yellow nail polish so it would have been tricky! Also, I don't have a blue cream colour so the one I used has a slight gold shimmer to it but it is hardly noticeable once the white dots went on. To achieve the white dots I simply dipped a kirby grip/bobby pin in white nail polish and dotted it on my nails -- easy peasy! I love this look, I can't stop looking at them! All these colours are stunning on the nails, they all feel very season appropriate! I recommend them all. What do you think of this look then?

Revlon Lip Butter in 'Strawberry Shortcake'

First of all I want to say a big big thaaaaaaaaank youuuuuuuu to Anca who sent me this. Go follow her blog coralista-xo.blogspot.co.uk, she is very lovely person and she deserves a simple little click of the follow button from you.

A couple of months ago maybe I entered a giveaway on Anca's blog for a Revlon Lip Butter of my choice and somehow luck was with me and I won! Yes, I won a Revlon Lip Butter -- yayyyyy! Unless you have been hiding under a rock for the last few months, you will have heard of these. They are the thing in between a lipstick and a lip balm, something I have always been looking for. I've always thought that lipsticks don't often suit me but lip balms don't last long enough. So to have something in between is an amazing thing for me. The shade I chose was Strawberry Shortcake.

The texture of these is lovely -- it feels so nice and soft on my lips like they are being moisturised. The sheer baby pink colour is perfect for spring, just like Anca said. I am IN LOVE with these! I am really glad I chose this colour, it's beautiful. A lot of people say they don't understand the hype for these -- but I do!! They last for agessss on the lips, just like I had hoped, and are worth every penny. These retail for £7.99 in Boots, which I think it is a very reasonable price. I would even pay double the price of that because of the quality that you are getting. So get down to your local Boots right this second and pick one up. There is tons of shades to choose from, one to suit everybody's taste. I am definitely going to be picking up a few more colours of this soon. What shades do you recommend?
